Be Inspired!

We are programmed to find the guilt in the innocent, the flaw in the masterpiece and the “catch” in the great deal.  Society has made us doubt in situations where we could let go of our need to find what is wrong and flourish by appreciating what is right.
I just spent the last week celebrating National Entrepreneurship Week; thus my late entry for this blog, but that’s okay – the world is still spinning.  The more important part is (drum roll please) I JUST SPENT THE LAST WEEK CONNECTING WITH, LISTENING TO AND BEING INSPIRED BY SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER!!!
This is a week where small business owners, innovators, students, creators, educators, leaders, politicians, advocates and service providers all come together to embrace the possibilities of entrepreneurship.  We had four incredible businesses speak at the college this week.  On Wednesday, I was able to offer students a lesson in funding and financials in our small business workshop as well as listen to a local lending legend as he shared his guidance with the workshop participants.  Last night I had the great opportunity to watch four talented and courageous students tell the world about their business ventures in a three-minute pitch at Memorial Stadium along with almost 60 other students.
Today, I attended the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Summit in Omaha where we shared in messages from successful business owners and entrepreneurial leaders.  The networking was magical and the environment was over-flowing with energy!  I left with this feeling of YES, YES, YES!!!!  Go For IT!  Make it Happen!  Don’t give up and all the other inspirational tag lines.
I want to feel this awesome everyday in everything that I do!  I guess my biggest take away and what I would like to share through this blog is that we can feel this energized and positive about our endeavors each day if we only allow ourselves to.  If instead of focusing on WHY NOT, let’s just figure out HOW IT CAN BE.  Embrace the challenges and work with them.  Be inspired by how efficiently those around you are in overcoming obstacles and be confident in your ability to do the same.  Be inspired by the little successes just as much as with the BIG ending.  Be inspired by the diversity we all have and the different perspectives we can bring to the table.  Be open-minded, be determined and BE INSPIRED.
